Students read chapter 4: Henry Has Two Surprises. As we read aloud, students give extra attention to phrasing and expression. We read in 4-6 word chunks and stress words that convey emotions. Students may use some “echo reading” as they partner in order to learn from one another what fluent reading sounds like.
This week, students work on written responses to reading that are: detailed, complete, neatly written and contain text evidence.
