This week, students read chapters 10-11 in the Boxcar Children. The suspense and excitement builds as the mystery of their grandfather is revealed!
Students continue to work on reading with accuracy, fluency and expression. Our target comprehension skill this week is: summarizing. Students learn to break the chapter into three sections: beginning, middle and end. They strive for concise summary sentences that contain text evidence.
Students should continue to read 20 minutes per day outside of school and mark the December reading log as they do.
